Your once quiet garage door might be acting up recently and making a lot of noise when opening and closing. Even if you can stand the noise, you should still make an effort to silence your garage door, as the noise is generally an indication that your garage door is put in conditions that result in premature wear.
Tighten All of the Screws and Bolts
The ruckus coming from your garage door might be coming from loose screws and bolts. Vibrations from regular usage can cause screws and bolts holding the various parts together to come loose with time. If the noise sounds like metal clashing with metal, see if tightening all of the screws and bolts solves the problem. If you notice that some of the screws and bolts can’t tighten completely, replace them.
